It’s March, and the weather is getting warmer. That makes it nice to talk about gardens. In the case this week, I talk with Samantha Beetler, lead gardener for The People’s Garden at Oberlin Community Services. That link will take you to the OCS Facebook page, which Beetler cites as a resource for learning about upcoming events. Those interested in learning more about gardening and The Peoples Garden can e-mail ocspeoplesgarden@gmail.com. Anyone interested could also drop by Oberlin Community Services on Wednesdays between 1 and 5 p.m., 285 S. Professor St.
In addition to Oberlin community gardening, we talk about urban gardening in Cleveland, farming in Oklahoma and in a California canyon, and kale. Hashtag that, #kale.
In her spare time, Beetler does a weekly radio show, Cleveland Renaissance, on Oberlin College’s 91.5 FM at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays.
