Greg Jones doesn’t live in Oberlin, but he might like to. He already calls it “our community.”
Jones is the energy advocate for Providing Oberlin With Efficiency Responsibly (POWER), one of a group of entities currently working with the Oberlin Project in pursuit of $5 million in prize money from Georgetown University for achieving energy efficiency and savings. Oberlin has made it to the level of the semifinals with 50 other municipalities competing over the next two years for that prize.
What’s interesting is Jones’ “boots on the ground” expression of how that can be won and the work he does on a daily basis in pursuit of performing energy audits on Oberlin’s stock of homes.
