One mark of interesting people doing interesting things is the fact that talking to them for an hour barely scratches the surface of knowing them. Two such people are Steve and Mary Hammond.

I’ve been aware of their church in Oberlin, Peace Community, for as long as I can remember, but I have never appreciated where they came from or where they are going as much as I have until today. We talked a little religion, a little community activism and, in the end, a lot of what makes Oberlin, Oberlin.
