Oh Oberlin, do you know who you lost?

The show for Saturday, March 15 is going to be a tribute to Ev Tyree who passed away Sunday, March 9.

Any of us could run down a list of influential people in our lives and Mr. Tyree was certainly one of the most influential in my young life. He was also an Air Force veteran, had worked at US Steel in Lorain, Oberlin City Schools, Oberlin College, served on Oberlin City Council and volunteered as a driver in the community.

Oh, and he was a soccer coach. The kind of soccer coach who would ask during kid-sized wind sprints after practice, “Is everybody happy?”

I’ll try working the phone(s) Saturday at WOBC, taking your calls to share your memories. I believe the call-in number is 440-775-8139.
