I’ve become a big fan of the idea of podcasting as a way to deliver stories. When they’re well-produced, they convey a sense of immediate emotional and sensory participation in the way that radio can, though does not always, deliver.
These days anyone with a phone can produce one as the more literal creation of an audio file saved to a server to which listeners can subscribe via RSS feed. Then there are mechanisms such as Google Hangouts on Air and the use of other live broadcast online media such as ustream and blogtalkradio.com.
I’m curious what people in Oberlin do for live listening, but I’m more curious what people in Oberlin would be interested in seeing covered in that way. What would a local podcast cover that would keep residents’ interest? What podcasts (or YouTube channels, etc.) already exist and keep people coming back?
